strange phobiasThere are literally hundreds of strange phobias, it would be impossible to list them all, but some are so weird they are barely believable. They range from animals and objects to places and food sorts. Here are just a few of the strange phobias we’ve come across, some more plausible than others: Fear of balloons; fear of adam’s apples; fear of bridges; fear of cellophane; fear of cracks; fear of sprinklers; fear of soap bubbles; fear of wet socks and fear of umbrellas. Those are a some of the objects openly declared as strange phobias. With regards to animals, people have strange phobias amongst other things about dead birds; a fear of cows; fear of ferrets; fear of snakes (think I’m in this one!); fear of rats (can’t stand them either!); fear of fish; fear of moths; insects crawling into ears (never get them on "I’m a Celebrity get me out of here!") and horses. On the food front some of the strange phobias include: fear of baked beans; fear of cheese; fear of chewing gum; fear of bread crumbs; fear of soggy bread and fear of KFC’s ( not sure if that’s the restaurants or food itself!). Other strange phobias incorporate fear of walking by an open door at the top of a stair; fear of entering a bathroom that has a closed shower curtain (watched too many Hitchcock movies!); fear of people standing behind you (Hitchcock again!) and fear of sirens (guilty consciences!). | Causes of phobias
